Birthattandants.info presents this workshop for birth workers to increase your knowledge to better 'be with' birthing women.
This workshop, facilitated by Rhea Dempsey, is for birth workers and other practitioners working with pregnant and birthing women. It will support you to 'go deeper' in order to honour women's stories and understand the unconscious dynamics activated during birth.
Topics included and not limited to:
‘Wild cards’ can be particular life stories, circumstances and wounds that may create resistance energy in birthing. How might they play out in birth? In this session we will go deeper into mind-body connections and how to support or work through any wild card resistance.
Mandala: a sacred circle representing wholeness. Psychologically a mandala represents a sacred enclosure containing the wholeness of a person.
In this session we will reflect on a holistic preparation tool, a Birth Mandala, to aid our work with women, supporting them to ‘go deeper’ and reflect on the balance of interconnecting elements that impact their birthing potential.

Archetype: a collectively inherited unconscious predisposition, pattern or expectation that is universally present in the psyche.
In this session we will reflect on particular Birth Archetypes activated within the relationship between birthing women and their birth companions.

A strong cultural message that ‘healthy mother, healthy baby’ is all that’s important, leaves many women feeling confused and misunderstood when distressing feelings about their birthing experience linger.
Using reflective processes you will be able to give women an opportunity to unpack and understand prior birth experiences which were distressing, disappointing and/or traumatic.

This weekend workshop will also include a sacred holding circle for sharing our experiences of birthwork. Join us on the Saturday night in the keep of the workshop womb. (open to non-workshop participants too)
